MISSY SUE AND TINKERBELL

Let Me....

Let me romp among the flowers,

feel His warmth upon my back,

with no locks on Heaven's Gateways,

and no leash to hold me back.

Let me play among your memories,

bringing comfort and not pain,

open up your heart to others,

so I have not lived in vain.

Let me be the one to greet you,

when your days on earth are through,

for I wait among the flowers,

to spend eternity with you.

Our 10-year old Cockapoo Missy Sue was healthy and happy until one morning in May she woke completely paralyzed in both hind legs, unable to stand or walk.  She spent the weekend in the hospital and with no change in her condition it was advised that the only humane thing to do for her, was to let her go.  This was sudden and heartbreaking.

When we found Tinker abandoned in 2005 she was just 8 lbs. and very sick.  The Vet diagnosed her with parasites, a staph infection, and advanced heartworm disease, involving her heart and lungs.  We immediately admitted her for the treatment for heartworms, which involves deep lumbar injections. She received one injection with an overnight stay. 30 days later she was admitted again for two more injections and two nights in the hospital.  She was cured of heartworms.  This sweet little pet suffered a lot at the hands of an indiscriminate breeder, which is all she was good for to them.  She was never spayed and even had a C-Section scar.  The Vet figures she was abandoned when she developed heartworm disease.  This June, when she began having seizures and had lost most of her vision and hearing, we had to make the same sad decision for her, and let her go, just 3 weeks after Missy Sue.  We have loved all of our pets, but my heart really went out to this little girl.  There are many precious pets out there like Tinker who desparately need someone  to rescue them.  Please open your heart and home to a shelter or stray pet.  And thanks to the many who sent their thoughts and prayers, Sandy
